Add a new site

This article explains how to add a new site to a customer in the Watchful Admin Portal.

Overview

Adding a site links a physical location to an existing customer so that monitoring, automation, and alert settings can be configured for that property.

Before you begin

Make sure the customer has already been created in your Customers list.

If not, complete the customer setup first.

Steps

1. Open the customer record

  1. From the Dashboard, go to the top-left menu and select Customers.

  2. Find and open the customer you created earlier.

    • If this is their first site, click Add Site on the left side of the screen, or open the Actions menu on the right and select Add Site.

    • For customers who already have existing sites, open the Actions menu on the right and select Add Site.

2. Enter site details

  1. In Site Name, enter the site name (for example, Big Building).

  2. The New Monitoring Alerts After field defaults to 1800 seconds. (You can adjust this value if needed.)

  3. In Site Instructions / SOP(Standard Operating Procedure), include any important information such as access codes, gate instructions, or unique site notes.

    • The monitoring team will integrate these into the SOP.

  4. Add the Address, or if the site is remote, use Latitude and Longitude.

  5. Confirm the correct Time Zone.

3. Configure Quill Automation

Choose an automation level:

  • None – Quill is disabled for this site.

  • Assistant – Quill reviews events and suggests outcomes for agents to confirm.

  • Full – Quill automatically closes “no-threat” events and escalates potential intrusions.

Threat criteria for Assistant and Full modes are completed by the monitoring team.

4. Optional settings

  • Siren Settings – Turn on only if sirens are integrated with Watchful.

  • Guard Response – Enable if a security company should be contacted when threats occur.

    • Add the company name and contact number in the provided fields.

5. Save the site

Click Save Changes on the top right of the screen.

A confirmation message appears: Site settings have been updated successfully.

Result

Your site is now created and linked to the customer account.
