Intruder Workflow
Overview
The Intruder Workflow guides monitoring officers through every step of investigating a potential intrusion.
It ensures that all required information is documented clearly and accurately, supporting both real-time decision-making and post-incident reporting.
When this workflow is used
You will enter the Intruder Workflow when:
An event is escalated as an Intruder
A Possibly Staff case is reclassified using Confirmed Intruder
Quill indicates behaviour consistent with an intrusion
Key features of the Intruder Workflow
1. Document critical details
The workflow provides fields for:
Visible weapons
Police event numbers
A description of the intruder(s)
Additional notes relevant to the investigation
These fields support compliance and ensure all details are accessible in future reviews.
2. Add and edit offender profiles
If a person is visible in the images:
Click Add Offender
Select the bounding box or individual to open their profile
Review the description generated by Quill
Edit details as needed
Age estimate
Clothing
Behaviour (“approaching fence”, etc.)
After saving, the offender profile will appear:
In the offender list
In the Activity Log on the left side of the screen
This keeps the investigation timeline complete and transparent.
3. Use helpful investigation tools
The workflow also gives quick access to:
Downloading images
Site instructions
Maps for navigation, to assist first responders
Activity Log, showing every step taken by officers and Quill
These tools help you gather and communicate accurate information efficiently.
4. Resolve the event
When the threat is no longer active:
Select Resolve Event
Confirm that the site is clear
Provide a short summary of how the situation was resolved
Specify whether police responded
Submit the resolution
This closes the alert and updates reporting records.
Result
The Intruder Workflow ensures every investigation is properly documented and aligned with your organisation’s SOPs. It supports accurate decisions during the event and provides a complete record afterwards.
