How to resolve alerts using Workflows
Workflows in Watchful help monitoring teams follow their Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) consistently and efficiently during every alert.
This guide explains what workflows are, why they matter, and how to move through them quickly while monitoring.
What are workflows?
A workflow is a guided sequence of steps that helps you classify and respond to an alert.
Watchful automatically shows the tools and information you need - such as live view, site contacts, and talk-down controls - so you can follow the correct SOP without switching between screens.
Common workflows you'll use in Watchful
Intruder Workflow
Used when a person or vehicle may be unauthorised.
Possibly Staff Workflow
Helps determine whether the detected individual is someone known or permitted on site.
False Alert Workflow
Used to close out non-threat activity such as weather, insects, animals, or camera/grid issues.
These workflows help maintain accuracy and consistency across all alerts.
How Watchful helps you follow SOPs
Quill will often place you directly into the correct workflow based on the event information she detects.
This ensures you start in the right place and only see the options relevant to the situation.
How to resolve alerts using workflows
Every workflow begins with the question:
βIs there a person or a vehicle?β
Yes (hotkey Q) β moves you into the intruder/suspicious-person workflow
No (hotkey W) β takes you into the false-alert workflow
Once inside a workflow, you can select from options such as:
Intruder
Suspicious Person
Staff
Parked Vehicle
Weather
Insect
No Further Action Required
These choices allow you to classify the alert correctly based on what you see.
Navigating workflows quickly
You can move through workflows efficiently using:
Hotkeys (listed beside each disposition)
Backspace to go back one step
Escape to return to the top of the workflow
PS5 or Xbox controllers for fast, ergonomic monitoring
These options help reduce effort and speed up alert handling during busy periods.
