Enable cameras and add grids
This article explains how to enable cameras for monitoring and how to set or adjust detection grids for each camera.
Overview
After adding a device, you can enable its cameras and configure detection grids. Grids define where motion should be detected within a camera’s view.
Steps
1. Open the site
From the Dashboard, go to the top-left menu and select Sites.
Search for the site you want to configure.
Open the site and go to the Devices tab.
2. Open Cameras and Hardware
Click on the device you want to configure.
This will take you to the Cameras and Hardware section, where all connected cameras are listed.
Enable or Disable Cameras
1. Enable all cameras
If cameras are currently disabled, you can:
Click Enable All Cameras to activate monitoring for every camera.
2. Disable all cameras
If you want none of the cameras to be monitored:
Click Disable All Cameras.
3. Enable or disable cameras individually
You can manage each camera separately:
Toggle each camera on or off based on your monitoring needs.
You can also scroll through the list, load more items, or move between pages if the device contains many cameras.
Refresh camera list
If new cameras were added to the device after the initial setup:
Click Refresh Cameras on the right-hand side.
The new cameras will appear in the list.
Enable or disable them as needed.
Configure Camera Grids
1. Select a camera
Click the Edit button in the Actions column for the camera you want to configure.
You will see the live camera view with any existing grid highlighted.
2. Set a new grid
Click on the camera image to place grid points.
Continue clicking to outline the area where motion should be detected.
Choose Grid 1, Grid 2, or additional grids depending on setup needs.
3. Adjust a grid
Click and drag the grid points to reshape the detection area.
Fine-tune the grid boundaries to match the camera’s view.
4. Reset a grid
If you want to start again:
Click Reset to remove the current grid completely.
Save your configuration
Once all grids and camera settings are correct:
Click Save Changes at the top right of the page.
Your camera settings and grids will be updated.
